Health Consultation
As part of our health advice service, we inform people who have recently arrived in Germany and are native speakers about the structure of the German healthcare system, access to the healthcare system, existing legal entitlements and various health-related topics such as vaccination information and preventative care.
Kamal Elkhrbash
ArabischKamal Elkhrbash is originally from Libya. He obtained a B.Sc. in Veterinary Medicine from Omar Almokhtar University in Al Bayda, Libya. He then moved to Germany, where he studied Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Free University of Berlin. In 2014, he earned his Ph.D. at the Center of Cardiovascular Research at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Charité Berlin. His dissertation was developed as part of an international research group. During his Ph.D., he attended several scientific conferences. In parallel, he began teaching Arabic at the Cordoba School in Berlin in 2007, where he taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grades weekly for two years. In this role, he focused extensively on pedagogical and didactic topics. After completing his studies, he initially worked in higher education and then gained significant experience as a laboratory assistant. In 2011, he worked as a health advisor for refugees at the Libyan Embassy. Additionally, he worked at the DAK Health Insurance as a district manager, providing health advice to Arabic-speaking people. Since 2023, he has been working at Albatros gGmbH as the head of the Health Counseling Team.
Christian Nwachukwu
EnglischChristian Nwachukwu is a Public health professional specializing in Epidemiology and disease control. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health (B.PH) and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Nigeria, as well as a Master of Science in International Health (MScIH) from The Charité University of Medicine, Berlin. He has worked with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Nigeria in various roles, starting as an intern and later serving as a Supervisor and Data Analyst for the Polio Eradication Initiative (PEI) Documentation for Certification in Nigeria. In Germany, he contributed to the COVID-19 emergency response as a Public Health Advisor for the Senatsverwaltung für Bildung, Jugend und Familie in Berlin-Charlottenburg. Currently, he serves as a Health Advisor at Albatross gGmbH, where he is part of the health consulting team. He speaks English, Pigin-English, Igbo and Yoruba.
Oraib Ananbeh
Arabic / EnglishOraib Ananbeh was born in Jordan and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She has more than three years of professional experience working as an occupational therapist in Jordan. In addition, she volunteered for two years with civil society organizations in the humanitarian and social sector, with a particular focus on community needs, interests, and providing social support in humanitarian contexts. She currently works with Albatros Beratungszentrum Brandenburg as a Health Counselor, where she provides health counseling in both Arabic and English, with for refugees. Through her work, she supports clients by providing health-related guidance, practical information, and assistance in navigating the healthcare system. Her approach focuses on empowering individuals to understand their health needs, access available services, and develop the skills needed to adapt to life challenges. At certain stages of life, support becomes an important element in maintaining balance and moving forward. Accessing appropriate health support and guidance contributes to greater stability and clarity, and enables individuals to face these challenges with increased confidence.
Layla Makhlouf
Arabic / EnglishLayla Makhlouf was born in Syria, where she completed her studies in Pharmacy at Al-Andalus University for Medical Sciences. Following her graduation, she worked as a resident medical laboratory specialist at the National Hospital in Latakia, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the healthcare field. After moving to Germany, Layla continued to advance her professional career by earning a Master’s degree in Public Health. She has since been working with Albatros as a Healthcare Consultant, supporting clients in both Arabic, her native language, and English. Layla is known for her empathetic, warm, and people-centered approach. She is deeply committed to supporting individuals through their journeys and consistently strives to create a safe and supportive environment. Her guiding message is simple and powerful: “You are not alone.”
Aysan Ghasempoor
Farsi/Dari/Englisch/Türkisch/AzeriAysan Ghasempoor was born in Iran and completed her studies in Clinical Psychology at the University of Tehran. She then expanded her knowledge by obtaining a master's degree in Clinical Psychology in Iran. Over the years, she has gained valuable experience as a psychologist in various fields, including working as an assistant psychologist in a clinic and as a research assistant in an academic setting. Additionally, she has worked in organizational psychology, applying her expertise in project management, crisis intervention, and psychosocial counseling. Since arriving in Germany, Aysan Ghasempoor has been working as a psychosocial specialist, supporting individuals with a migration background in challenging life situations. She provides counseling and guidance for individuals and groups, using a combination of proven psychological methods and innovative approaches. In addition to her practical work, she has published several scientific articles in ISI-listed journals and has conducted seminars at international conferences. Her research primarily focuses on mental health, self-regulation, and relationship dynamics. "Life often confronts us with unexpected challenges. Some of these we can overcome on our own, while others require professional support. In difficult times, it is important to know that we are not alone.
